Bhupen Lalwani continues to knock the doors of Mumbai Ranji with Strong Performances!

In the semi-finals vs DY Patil at the DY Patil University Ground, Bhupen Lalwani opening the innings with Sarfaraz Khan for Payyade Sports Club went on to score a record 184* in just 138 balls, an innings which included 17 fours and 8 sixes. Sarfaraz scored in sync with Bhupen as he scored a quick 138 off mere 75 balls smashing 15 fours and 8 sixes as both the openers stitched a partnership of 215 runs in mere 25 overs as Payyade reached a total of 410/8 in 45 overs.

DY Patil in reply were all out for 265 runs as Payyade Sports Club won the match by 145 runs and qualified to the finals. Bhupen Lalwani who also scored a half century in the finals was declared the Best Batsman in Purshottam Shield with 408 runs in 5 innings. Bhupen was also the Best Batsman in A Division Kanga League before this tournament as he continues to knock the doors for the openers role in Mumbai Ranji Team.
