Patan Premier League – One of the Biggest Sporting Events of Patan Jain Community is known to host one of the biggest leather ball tournament in Mumbai Jain Community in the name of PPL. It has become so famous, that it has now reached Season 7 and with every season, the tournament has only become bigger, better and professional.
The Opening Ceremony of Patan Premier League Season 7 was on 6th January, 2024 and it witnessed numerous Senior Dignitaries, Guests and Members of the Patan Commitee to begin the season on a positive note. The Opening day of the tournament also had two exciting matches where both the teams displayed quality cricket being played on the picturesque Western Railway Cricket Ground, Lower Parel in Mumbai.
The first match was between CC Mavericks and SK Strikers wherein CC Mavericks batting first made a total of 144/7 in 20 overs with half century by all-rounder Deven Dhruva who scored 50 off 33 balls smashing 6 fours and 1 six. SK Strikers in reply put on a tough fight despite a top order collapse but eventually fell short by just 2 runs. Experienced Samir Shah at no.6 scored 50 off 37 alongwith Darshil Shah scoring 45 runs at no.9. From the bowlers, Jainam Shah was stunning with 3/7 in 1.5 overs as CC Mavericks won the match by 2 runs.
In the second match between SPS Superstars vs MTM Riders, SPS Superstars batting first were all out for 99 runs with Sahil Shah taking 3/11 in t overs. The total was easily chased down by MTM Riders with opener Tanay Shah anchoring the chase with 43* off 47 balls as MTM Riders won the match by 5 wkts.
