MCCC which stands for Mumbai Club Cricket Championships is a Not For Profit initiative founded by the MCCC Foundation. The Foundation or lets say the MCCC Community comprises of elite club cricketers who come together under one platform to pursue their love and passion towards their favorite sport – i.e Cricket.
Today the MCC Championships hosted by the MCCC Foundation holds a lot of prestige for being the only cricket tournaments in Mumbai conducted purely for the clubs as a Not For Profit initiative as a cricket collective of some of the most prestigious clubs of Mumbai including the CCI, Bombay Gym, MIG, Garware Club House, Malabar Hill Club, Chembur Gymkhana, MCA BKC, Goregaon Sports Club, Juhu Gymkhana, Radio Club, Khar Gymkhana, MCA SRT Kandivali, Jolly Gymkhana and NSCI, besides others.
In no time, the MCCC became a solid brand and the level of competition also increased drastically. The prime reason for its organic popularity is due to its single minded focus on Pure and Quality Cricket on a level playing field amongst its participating teams specifically with regard to its tourney rules.
The MCC 40+ Championships 2022 is slated to be conducted between October – December 2022. The MCC 50+ Championships will be conducted between December 2022 -January 2023 and Open Age MCC Championships will be conducted between January – March 2023.
The Clubs will be vying for the prestigious Sharad Pawar Trophy for the MCC 40+ Championships.
This year the MCC Championship Organizing Committee includes Mohit Chaturvedi, Vineet Dujodwala, Ganesh Rai, Anand Thakker and Siddartha Bafna.
With the MCC Championships, what was assured was its quality of pure cricket in a fun, friendly environment and the gradual increase in the competition and quality of cricket as all teams working hard with every passing season to capture the beautiful and coveted MCC Trophy’s. As the motto of MCCC goes, it will always be For the Love of Cricket.
