Played at Police Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai, Payyade Sports Club opting to bowl first restricted Mumbai Police Gymkhana to 63 runs all out in 30.3 overs. A job certainly commendable by the Payyade Bowlers to dominate Mumbai Police on their home ground. Left-arm Pacemen Atif Attarwala was the pick of the lot returning with bowling figures of 4/16 in 9.3 overs. Apart from Atif, Badrey Alam and Musheer Khan bagged 3 wkts each.
Payyade Sports Club in reply chased down the 1st innings trail quite convincingly as they went on to score 200/3 in 44 overs before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings lead. Opener Bhupen Lalwani who recently scored a hundred in MCA Shatkar Trophy continued his good form onto Kanga as well scoring 92 off 121 balls smashing 9 fours and 2 sixes. Japjeet Randhawa who came at no.3 top scored in the match scoring 93 off 119 balls, an innings which included 5 sixes alongwith 4 boundaries as both the players stitched a massive 188 run stand for the 2nd wicket.
