Played at the Parsee Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai, GCH Pirates batting first posted a healthy total of 189/2 in 20 overs. The top 5 batters chipped in with cameos with opener Tejas Shah (38 runs) & Shainil Shah (32 runs) top scoring for Pirates. Ali Rangwala at no.3 also scored 31 runs off 20 balls. From the bowlers, Salil Babar Desai and Ratan Sharma chipped in with a wicket each.
GCH Dragons in reply scored 160/8 in 20 overs with Rachit Bakshi at no.7 top scoring with 38* off 25 balls. From the bowlers, Akshay Chandan with 3/29 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot.
Coach Gokul Bista shared with Sportsnextindia – We had some really good competitive games over the weekend. All the members of the Club got a chance to show their talent. We wanted some good players for our future tournaments and we tried giving enough opportunities to all the players. These matches were certainly quite helpful looking at the preparations we have in mind for our future tournaments”
Result: GCH Pirates won by 29 runs, Shainil Shah for his all-round performance was declared ‘man of the match’
