Sapient Leopards opting to bat first at Western Railways Cricket Ground in Lower Parel, Mumbai made a healthy total of 189/6 in 20 overs. Opener Shahen Mistry set the tone for the match smashing a quickfire half century. Shahen scored a strokeful innings of 55 off mere 32 balls smashing 7 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 173.33 while he was well supported by Huzefa Saifee who scored 45 runs at no.4 plonking 5 sixes! Dhrumin Shah (42 runs) and Rahul Pandey (25 runs) at the middle order did their job pushing their team towards a defendable total. From the bowlers, Samit Shukla and Ashutosh Dube with 2wkts each were the pick of the lot.
Cheetahs Mumbai Stars in reply could only manage 150/5 in their 20 overs as middle and lower middle order batters could’nt capitalize on the start given by opener Ronak Seth (48 runs off 36 balls) and Aryan Babardesai (47 off 39 balls). The bowlers kept tight lines and did a terrific job in the death overs with Dhrumin Shah being the pick of the lot with bowling figures of 2/27 in 4 overs.
