Cricket Club of India opting to bat first at picturesque Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai posted a total of 182/8 in 20 overs. Rupen Jhaveri coming at no.3 scored a crucial half century scoring 55 off 28 balls, a quickfire aggressive knock which included 8 fours and a six. Behzad Davdhawala at no.4 also chipped in with a crucial cameo of 34 runs off 20 balls. From the bowlers, Sunil Mayekar, Kamlesh Singh and Vineet Advirkar chipped in with 2 wkts each.
MCA SRT in reply had one man show in Sanjay Chawla who scored a brilliant 80 off just 53 balls smashing 5 fours and 4 sixes at a healthy strike rate of 150.94. Sanjay held fort from one end keeping the scoreboard ticking despite lacking support as wickets kept on falling from the other end. MCA SRT in the end could manage 157/9 in their 20 overs with Shaleen Toshniwal being the pick of the lot returning with excellent bowling figures of 3/12 in 4 overs.
