Played at the iconic Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Cricket Club of India after being put to bat first made a very healthy total of 204/4 in 20 overs. Opener Rohan Punjani who is known for his attacking style of batting once again stayed true to his reputation as he went on to score a brilliant hundred. Rohan scored 127* off 67 balls batting from start to end smashing 18 boundaries and 3 sixes at a very impressive strike rate of 189.55. Sachin Shetty (35 runs) and Meet Khira (28 runs) at the middle order provided crucial cameos as well as CCI crossed the 200 run mark in their 20 overs.
MCA SRT in reply could only manage 177/9 in their 20 overs with many batters getting starts but unable to convert it into a 50+ or a 60+ score to make an impact while chasing. The CCI bowlers did a fairly decent job with Saurabh Jhaveri and Rohan Punjani bagging 2 wkts a piece.
Result: CCI won by 27 runs, Rohan Punjani declared “Performer of the Match”
