NSCI after being put to bat first at Chembur Gymkhana’s homeground batted really well scoring a very good total of 200/8 in 20 overs. Prasad Divadkar at no.4 was the top scorer with 39 runs off 33 balls while Ashwin Mehta gave a finishing cameo down the order with 31 off just 14 balls alongowith Gautam Parolia who scored 29* off just 13 balls which included 5 fours and 1 six. Almost all batters of NSCI chipped in with contributions which took the team total towards the elusive 200 run mark.
Chembur Gymkhana almost pulled it off but eventually fell short of just 7 runs in the penultimate 20th over. Prashant Nair at the middle order gave his everything scoring a well fought 59* off 35 balls (12 boundaries). NSCI bowlers got the upper hand in the death overs including crucial spells from Krushanu Shah (2/28) and Tushar Zaveri (2/29) which did the job for NSCI.
Result: Chembur Gymkhana won by 7 runs, Prashant Nair for his 59* was the “Performer of the Match”
