Played at the picturesque Brabourne Ground in Mumbai, Goregaon Sports Club after opting to bowl first restricted Cricket Club of India to 143/5 in 20 overs. Even though CCI lost quick wickets and looked in trouble at one point, they got back into the game thanks to their solid middle order consisting of Samir Mogul and Siddarth U at no.6 & 7. Both the players stitched an unbeaten stand of 75 runs for the 6th wicket pushing their team towards a respectable total. Samir scored 30* off 22 balls while Siddarth also remained unbeaten on 40* off 37 balls as both the players smacked 8 boundaries together in their partnership. From the bowlers, almost everyone chipped in with a wicket each with Yatin Telang taking 1/15 in 3 overs being the pick of the lot.
Chasing 144, GSC were off to a flying start courtesy their openers putting on 65 runs in the first 7 overs laying down a positive momentum for the batters to come. Karansingh Walia went all guns blazing en route his quick 37 off 21 balls while Aniket Kawade scored 31 off 32 balls. Sushil Patil (26 runs) and Vikash Bhosle (23*) also provided crucial contributions as GSC chased down the total with ease.
Result: Goregaon Sports Club won by 4 wkts and 1.1 overs to spare, Karansingh Walia for his quick 37 turned out to be the ‘Performer of the Match’
