Played at the picturesque Vengsarkar Cricket Academy Ground in Mahul, DBCC opting to bat first posted a decent total on board of 173/4 in 20 overs with most of their batters chipping in with 20’s and 30’s but none being able to convert it into some big score. Vinesh at no.3 was the highest scorer for DBCC scoring 38 runs off 24 balls smashing 6 boundaries. From the bowlers, Milan Gohil with 2/32 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot.
Passionate Stars in reply were off to a good start but faced a middle order collapse with scoreboard converting from 45/1 to 89/6 in no time. Opener Arnav Bafna held fort from one end scoring a crucial 60 off 44 balls while it was all-rounder Jay Tolani who came at no.8 to completely change the script of the game. It took mere 22 balls for Jay Tolani to turn things around spanking 5 sixes and 6 fours in the death overs en-route his match winning 61* off 22 balls. Jay batting at a strike rate of 277.27 simply played a blinder taking his team home with a comfortable win from nowhere with 1.1 overs to spare.
Result: Passionate Stars won by 2 wkts, Jay Tolani declared “man of the match” for his unbeaten 60* and 1 wkt.
