Plate Group Finals
Into the all important finals of Sportsnext Champions Trophy, Goldenwings CC after being put to bat first at Western Railway Ground in Lower Parel batted well to form a total of 166/9 in 20 overs under overcast conditions. The openers Harman Raja and Preyas Ruparel set the tone for the game stitching a brilliant 96 run opening stand as both the players came up with impressive innings. Harman scored a solid 45 off 38 balls, a technically very correct innings which had some elegant shots while Preyas top scored in the match with 68 runs off 52 balls smashing 7 boundaries. Both the batters smashed some impressive boundaries without playing any silly or risky shots. Asheer who came during death overs also provided a quick cameo of 20 runs in 11 balls.
JBCN United in reply could’nt make much of an impact while chasing as they scored only 96/8 in 20 overs. Vishal Kshatriya with 3/14 in 4 overs was the pick of the lot while rest of the bowlers also did a good job restricting the opposition and keeping them under leash.
